LEGALLY BLONDE and THE TALE OF THE ALLERGIST'S WIFE Headline Cockpit in Court's Summer 2014 Season

Following on the heels of the opening for its children's production - "Annie, Jr." July 11- 20, Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre brings two new offerings to the stage this weekend, July 18 and 19: "Legally Blonde - The Musical" and "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife." Cockpit in Court, in residence at the Community College of Baltimore County, Essex, presents these productions in the College Community Center (formerly the B Building), CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Robert W. Oppel directs this wonderful musical homage to the film of the same name - "Legally Blonde." Elle Woods (Bridget Linsenmeyer of Hydes, Md.) is the epitome of the "California Blonde" who has it all until her boyfriend gets accepted at Harvard Law and drops her. Determined to win him back, she applies to Harvard Law and the fun begins. At school Elle struggles with peers, professors and her old beau - Warner Huntington III (Aaron Dalton of York, Penn.). With the help of new friends - Paulette (Tammy Oppel of Parkville, Md.) and Emmett (Jim Baxter of Ellicott City, Md.), Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to Harvard and the world!

The music and lyrics are by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and the book by Heather Hach. The musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture.

Marjorie Taub (Liz Boyer Hunnicutt of Perry Hall, Md.), a middle-aged Upper Westside (NY) doctor's wife, is devoted to mornings at the Whitney Museum, afternoons as MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and evenings at BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). Plunged into a mid-life crisis of Medea-like proportions, she's shaken out of her lethargy by the reappearance of a fascinating and somewhat mysterious childhood friend.

Other actors in the ensemble are: Joan Crooks of Westminster, Md. (Frieda), Holly Pasciullo (Lee), Tom Wyatt (Ira), and Zach Bopst (Mohammed) of Baltimore, Md. Linda Chambers directs the play.
