12 Angry Jurors opens as a murder trial has just ended and the jury is starting its deliberations on the fate of a young man accused of murdering his father. A guilty verdict will carry a mandatory death sentence. In the first polling of the jury all except one of the jurors feel the defendant is guilty. As their discussion proceeds and they become more acquainted with each other, the audience learns of their different prejudices and reasons for their opinions. A single dissenter plants seeds of reasonable doubt and what seemed an open and shut case suddenly is not as clear. The suspense mounts as the jury and the audience ponder what the verdict will be?
