William Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus, a riveting and bloody tragedy about the high cost of revenge, will be presented by Chesapeake Shakespeare Company in Baltimore this Halloween season, October 23 - November 15, 2015.

Titus Andronicus is wickedly entertaining, written 420 years ago but eerily contemporary in its no-holds-barred portrayal of mankind's capacity for evil and penchant for vengeance. A Roman general captures his enemy's Queen and slays her son. She vows revenge, setting off a cataclysmic cycle of terror that is barbaric and all-consuming.

In Shakespeare's time, the play was a smash hit. Titus Andronicus has been revived in recent years. Director Ian Gallanar sets the story in late 20th century, with an edgy look inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino and David Lynch, original music by Chip Salerno, and a rock band on stage.

Performances will take place October 23 through November 15, 2015, at Chesapeake Shakespeare Company Theater, 7 South Calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202, near the city's Inner Harbor. Show times are at 8pm Thursdays-Saturdays, and at 2pm Saturdays and Sundays. There will be two performances on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, at 2pm and at 8pm.

Tickets: Adults: $19 - $49. Seniors: $19 - $41. Students: $15 - $25. Order tickets online at ChesapeakeShakespeare.com or call the Box Office at 410-244-8570.
