Adventure Theatre MTC continues its 2013-2014 62nd Season with the classic fable The Jungle Book, today, April 4- May 25, 2014 based on the adventures collected by Rudyard Kipling and vibrantly brought to life on stage by Shirley Serotsky, Associate Artistic Director of Theatre J.

Orphaned in the jungle as an infant and adopted by a wolf pack, young Mowgli the man-cub is taught the Laws of the Jungle by Baloo, the bear, and Bagheera, the panther. As Mowgli discovers himself and his place as a human, the jungle's greatest menace, the Bengal Tiger Shere Khan, prepares to finish the kill he abandoned years ago.

With a multi-ethnic cast and crew creating a vibrant India-inspired jungle, this production showcases the best of D.C. area talent. Tickets are $19 each, with group and field trip rates available, and can be purchased through the box office by calling 301-634-2270 or online at www.adventuretheatre-mtc.org. Children under the age of 1 are free. The press performance will be Sunday, April 6 at 2pm. All performances will take place at Adventure Theatre MTC, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo, MD, 20812 in the historic Glen Echo Park.

Michael J. Bobbitt, Producing Artistic Director at Adventure Theatre MTC says of the show, "After this cold and icy Washington, DC winter, we all could use a vibrant jungle to bring us to life again this Spring. We're excited to welcome Shirley Serotsky into our ATMTC family of directors, and look forward to her leading this incredibly talented cast in a play that will be visually breathtaking."
