Adventure Theatre MTC concludes its 2013-2014 62nd Season with Pinkalicious, the Musical, June 20 - Aug. 31, 2014 based on the starting book of the runaway series, "Pinkalicious" by Victoria Kann & Elizabeth Kann, script by Elizabeth Kann & Victoria Kann, music by John Gregor, and lyrics by John Gregor, Elizabeth Kann & Victoria Kann. Pinkalicious, the Musical is directed by Carl Menninger, with music direction from Wayne Chadwick and choreography and movement by Michael J. Bobbitt. Carolyn Agan, who recently performed as Olive Ostrovsky in the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Ford's Theater, plays the titular heroine.

Pinkalicious Pinkerton's favorite color is... PINK! She can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe - a dream come true for this pink loving enthusiast. But when her hue goes too far, only Pinkalicious can figure out a way to get out of this predicament.

Pinkalicious is Director Carl Menninger's first Adventure Theatre MTC production. He is Associate Professor in the Department of Performing Arts at American University, as well as a writer, director and playwright and co-author of Minding the Edge: Strategies for a Successful, Fulfilling Career as an Actor.

"What's wrong with too much of a good thing? A story about a girl who eats so many pink cupcakes that she turns pink demands an interpretation that underscores her philosophy that enough is never enough. This production of Pinkalicious will be a whimsical confection filled with larger than life surprises," says Menninger.

Adventure Theatre MTC also has two promotional partnerships for Pinkalicious, the Musical. The Happy Tart, ATMTC's official birthday bakery, has designed special gluten-free Pinkalicious cupcakes and birthday cakes for sale in their bakery, located at 2307A Mount Vernon Ave. in Alexandria, Va. and will donate 20 percent of those product sales to Adventure Theatre MTC. Pigtails and Crewcuts, at 107B Gibbs Street in Rockville, Md. is offering a free Pinkalicious pigtails styling with the purchase of a Pinkalicious crown at Adventure Theatre MTC in Glen Echo from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturdays June 21, July 26 and Aug. 30. In addition, there will be a special free Pinkalicious dress-up station in both Glen Echo and at Pigtails and Crewcuts throughout the summer.

Tickets to Pinkalicious, The Musical are $19 each, with group and field trip rates available, and can be purchased through the box office by calling 301-634-2270 or online at www.adventuretheatre-mtc.org. Children under the age of one are free. The press performance is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 28. All performances will take place at Adventure Theatre MTC, 7300 MacArthur Blvd., Glen Echo, MD, 20812 in the historic Glen Echo Park.

"It's pink! It's really, really pink! And that's fantastic. It'll be an event not to be missed," says Producing Artistic Director Michael J. Bobbitt.
