Georgia Shakespeare announces open auditions for the lead role of 'Ralphie' in the live stage production of A CHRISTMAS STORY to run Dec 7-26, 2010, at Georgia Shakespeare on the campus of Oglethorpe University. Four open auditions will be held at various locations around Atlanta in the coming weeks. For the role of Ralphie, Georgia Shakespeare is looking for boys who look between the ages of 10 and 12, but are not over the age of 13.

The Red Bull Theater announces its 2010-2011 Revelation Readings. Some actors and actresses involved in the readings include Maria Dizzia, Jessica Hecht, Jan Maxwell, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mary Testa, and Michael Urie. The Alley Pond Environmental Center is hosting a blod drive on Thursday, August 26th from 2PM to 8PM. The location is 228-06 Northern Blvd in Douglaston, Queens. Each blood donation can help save up to three lives. The community hospitals are in need of donations. Participants must be 16 years old and older. The first annual Warwick Jazz Festival will take place from August 26th to the 29th. This event, conceived and produced by local jazz musician Steve Rubin, in cooperation with venues presenting live music, the village of Warwick and local business will be an extension of a vibrant local jazz culture.

New York native, keyboardist Greg Lewis performs at Teddy's Bar & Grill (96 Berry St., Brooklyn) on Wednesday, August 25th at 9PM. His CD, 'Organ Monk,' debuts on October 1st, which also feature Ron Jackson on guitar and Cindy Blackman on drums.

The Plum Theatre Company presents David Caudle's SOUTH BEACH RAPTURE as part of the 14th Annual New York International Fringe Festival with remaining performances set for Saturday, August 21 at 11:00pm; Sunday, August 22 at 4:15pm; Monday, August 23 at 3:45pm and Wednesday, August 25 at 7:45pm at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). P.J.S. Exhibitions, an emerging and eclectic W. The exhibit, opening Thursday, September 16th and running through October 10th, 2010 includes mixed-media pieces of various sizes and subjects contributed by an array of artists, companies and estates. The Blue Elephant Theatre (59a Bethwin Road) in Camberwell presents the world premiere of THE CAVE from Tuesday, October 19th to Saturday, November 6th. The play was written by Mervyn Peake and will be directed by Aaron Paterson.

Through Line Productions, fresh from their Fringe hit SHADES OF GREY, present FAT PIG from September 9th to the 18th. The producation will be at Theatre Ste. Caterine (264 Ste. Catherine St. East). Show times are Tuesdays to Saturdays at 8PM and Saturday matinees at 2PM.

Davidson Community Center will hold auditions for actors and actresses in grades 6th through 12th for their production, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, on August 22nd and 23rd. The auditions on the 22nd will be at 2PM and the auditions on the 23rd will be at 7PM. Auditionees should arrive no later than 3PM and 8PM on each day, respectively. Both will be held at the Armour Street Theatre (307 Armour St., Davidson).
