This Christmas, The Watermill celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Lewis Carroll's much loved novel with a brand new stage adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, running until Sunday 3 January 2016.

BWW:UK recently caught up with the star of Theatr na nÓg's upcoming production of Tom - A Story of Tom Jones The Musical Kit Orton and Director Geinor Styles at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham, ahead of their UK tour.

As the perfect antidote to the season of enforced merriment, Birmingham Repertory Theatre hosts a series of cabaret nights with a difference throughout December.  With a wickedly funny line-up and for six nights only, the Dirty Grotto will titillate even the most bah-humbugs from 10 - 19 December.

Written by Mike James, with choreography by Arlene Phillips and directed by Anna Linstrum, JACKIE THE MUSICAL will play at the New Alexandra Theatre from Tue 24 to Sat 28 May 2016, as part of a nationwide tour. 

The producers of Chichester Festival Theatre's production of Goodnight Mister Tom are delighted to announce today that the Oliver award-winning stage adaptation of Michelle Magorian's classic novel will embark on a UK Tour in 2016 after its strictly limited West End run at the Duke of York's Theatre this Christmas.

Amongst the ongoing change and turnover in the West End, Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap has always been solid and constant. After a short UK tour, the show set up camp at the Ambassadors Theatre in London in 1952 where it played for 22 years before moving to the bigger St Martin's Theatre where it is still playing today. The production is now the longest running show of any genre of modern times. The Belgrade Theatre, Coventry is its last stop on the show's first UK tour.

Since its first appearance at the Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show has become the world's favourite Rock N' Roll musical. It has been performed worldwide for over 40 years in over 30 countries and has been translated into more than 20 languages. Director Christopher Luscombe created a stunning new production to celebrate the 40th Anniversary and this critically acclaimed version of the classic show is back by popular demand, embarking on a year-long national adventure starting at Brighton's Theatre Royal on 17 December 2015.

Theatre na nÓg are delighted to announce the full cast for the UK tour of the TNN production of "TOM. A STORY OF TOM JONES. THE MUSICAL", opening on Monday 7 March 2016 at Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.

William Golding's epic novel Lord of the Flies may have been published over sixty years ago but its themes and content are still supremely relevant today. This was reflected last night at Birmingham Rep with a virtually full house, consisting of many school parties. The book still remains on the school curriculum and based on this Regent's Park Open Air Production, it has been slightly adapted to a modern young audience - with references to selfies, 3G and even Ant & Dec! - without losing its powerful and timeless thread.

William Shakespeare's plays have had many reincarnations over the years but none quite like this one. Broadway Records have produced the world premiere recording of A ROCKIN' Midsummer Night's Dream by New Arts: Newtown Musicals which is a summer program by the 12.14 Foundation, a memorial to the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School back in 2012. All profits made by the sales of this album will go directly to the Foundation to support its future work.

Patti LuPone is up there with some of the musical theatre greats and is an idol to many aspiring performers. With two Tony and two Grammy awards plus a multitude of nominations throughout her forty-odd year career in musicals, she also regularly performs her solo shows which include Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, the Carnegie Hall sold-out performance The Lady With The Torch and the one featured on this album Matters Of The Heart.

IMPOSSIBLE, the most dangerous show the West End has ever seen, will arrive at the Mayflower Theatre in spring 2016 before embarking on its inaugural UK tour, visiting Liverpool, Birmingham, Sunderland, Stoke, Edinburgh and Manchester. The show features the world's greatest illusionists live on stage in a magic spectacular that will thrill and amaze audiences of all ages. 

Isabela Moner may only be 14 years old but her career thus far is envied by many performers. She made her Broadway debut at 10 in the revival of Evita and is currently a household name amongst most young people in America, starring in 100 Things To Do Before High School on Nickelodeon. She also has numerous other TV, film and theatre credits under her belt. With a view to giving her a platform into pop music, Broadway Records swiftly signed Moner up and this 12-track album - Stopping Time - is the finished product.

It may have lasted a mere six weeks on Broadway earlier this year but Doctor Zhivago is not a brand new production, having originally debuted in California in 2006. Then followed an Australian touring production in 2011, Seoul in 2012 and the show had its Scandinavian premiere in 2014. Regrettably after failing to be nominated for any Tony Awards and a slump in ticket sales, the New York production did not last as long as hoped. This is not, however, a testament of its quality.

Auburn Jam Records are soon to be releasing Heart of Winter, a brand new Studio Recording documenting a Northern primary school teacher called Kate who's recently split with Adam, her partner of three years. The album reflects on her life after Adam and how she plans to move on without him.

Stepping into Hedda Beeby's shoes, Paul Hart is The Watermill's new Artistic and Executive Director. Originally hailing from Kent, he has been working in London with the likes of the National Theatre, National Youth Theatre, Propeller and Donmar Warehouse. Bringing energy and a new direction, his ambition is to put the theatre on the map for original works that can be adapted for venues across the country.

A major revival of Noel Coward's hilarious masterpiece, Private Lives will embark on a prior to the West End UK tour starring stage and screen stars Tom Chambers (Top Hat, Strictly Come Dancing) as the loveable and charming Elyot and Laura Rogers (Tipping The Velvet, An Ideal Husband) as the unconventional and vivacious Amanda, alongside Charlotte Ritchie (Call The Midwife, One Night in November) as Sybil and Richard Teverson (Downton Abbey) as Victor.

17 years to the day since it first opened on Broadway, it is announced that worldwide smash hit musical Footloose: The Musical will burst back onto the stage in 2016, opening at The Spa, Bridlington on Friday 29 January 2016 prior to a six month UK Tour.

The Watermill has announced the full company for its upcoming production of Macbeth, which runs from 2 - 7 November, before undertaking a tour of local schools.

Green Day's explosive,Tony Award-winning Broadway musical American Idiot will now embark on a national tour from 19 March 2016, following on from its hugely successful and critically acclaimed West End run, which is currently running at the Arts Theatre, Leicester Square until 22 November 2015.
