On Wednesday, September 14, original Broadway cast members Roger Bart, Kerry Butler, Rachel York and Jennifer Simard joined show creator and event host Seth Rudetsky for a special live performance and CD signing at Barnes & Noble - Upper East Side. Performances included 'Do You Wanna Make Love?' (Roger Bart, Kerry Butler), 'I Am Woman' (Kerry Butler), 'Mockingbird' (Rachel York, Seth Rudetsky), 'I Will Survive' (Rachel York), 'Never Can Say Goodbye' (Jennifer Simard) and a special performance of the Broadway for Orlando charitable single, 'What the World Needs Now is Love.' 

The new Broadway production of William Finn and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos, featuring Stephanie J. Block, Christian Borle, Andrew Rannells, Anthony Rosenthal, Tracie Thoms, Brandon Uranowitz, and Betsy Wolfe, begins previews Thursday, September 29 and opens Thursday, October 27.

Les Liaisons Dangereuses begins Broadway performances on Saturday, October 8, 2016 and will open on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th St). This is a 15-week only engagement throughSunday, January 22, 2017.  As previously announced, Janet McTeer will play 'La Marquise de Merteuil,' Liev Schreiber will play 'Le Vicomte de Valmont,' Birgitte Hjort Sorensen will play 'Madame de Tourvel' and Mary Beth Peil will play 'Madame de Rosemonde.'  The company just met the press and you can check out photos from the big day below!

Last night, Tony Award-Winner Cynthia Erivo (The Color Purple) and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry (Shuffle Along, Violet) just starred in a special one-night-only benefit concert version of Jason Robert Brown's seminal musical, The Last Five Years, with the composer himself leading the orchestra. Oh, Hello on BROADWAY, marks the Broadway premiere of two of the two hottest voices in comedy today, Nick Kroll (Comedy Central's 'Kroll Show') and John Mulaney (Netflix's 'The Comeback Kid'), starring as their wildly popular alter egos Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland. Directed by Alex Timbers, the 15-week strictly limited engagement begins previews Friday evening, September 23, opens Monday, October 10, and will run through Sunday, January 8, 2017.

The cast of Chicago, Broadway's longest running musical, is celebrating this production's twentieth birthday today! For this momentous day, the cast are taking to the streets, with a free concert at SummerStage in Central Park. Doors open at 7PM and the show begins at 8PM. We were lucky enough to catch up with some of the cast as they made their final preparations for today's show.

Anderson (Queen of the Mist), OBIE Winner David Greenspan (The Patsy, The Royal Family), Ivory McKay, Doug Shapiro (Once Upon a Mattress), Tim Dolan (Altar Boyz), Patrick Boll (Mamma Mia), Richard Costa (Once Upon a Mattress), Ruthie Ann Miles (The King and I, Here Lies Love) and Tony nominee Mary Testa (First Daughter Suite, Xanadu). 

Nickelodeon and Masterworks Broadway recently announced that the Broadway-bound The SpongeBob Musical will release a cast album following a successful run at Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theater.

Directed by Daniel Sullivan, Troilus and Cressida began performances on Tuesday, July 19 and will run through Sunday, August 14. BroadwayWorld was there for opening night last night, and you can check out photos below!

Earlier this week, the Tony Award winning hit musical, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS teamed up with Steps Dance School to offer a free dance class for kids ages 8 to 12. The class allowed the kids to make their 'Broadway debuts' on stage at the Palace Theatre. Conducted by Associate Director/Choreographer Dontee Kiehn and assisted by cast members from AN AMERICAN IN PARIS including Tony nominee Leanne Cope and Associate Choreographer Sean Kelly, the students learned some of the actual Tony Award-winning choreography by Christopher Wheeldon featured in the musical. Commissioned by Alexander Hamilton in 1790, August 4th  marked the anniversary of the founding of the US Coast Guard.  To commemorate the occasion members of the Broadway musical Hamilton joined Capt. Matthew Meilstrup for a ride-in of the Cutter Eagle up the Hudson River.
