A replacement date is being sought, but none has been scheduled as of yet. Anyone holding a ticket for the Willie Nelson performance may either hold on to the ticket pending a new date or may return their ticket for a refund or exchange.

Work Light Productions and the McCallum Theatre present MOTOWN THE MUSICAL for eight performances Tuesday, January 16, through Sunday, January 21. Complete casting has been announced for the McCallum Theatre's exclusive upcoming concert production of West Side Story, which will be presented March 9-11 in Palm Desert, CA. Produced and directed by Chad Hilligus, this limited engagement will feature an onstage 40-piece orchestra under the baton of Grammy-winning conductor Richard Kaufman. As previously announced, Ali Ewoldt, who currently stars as Christine in Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, will play Maria alongside Matthew Hydzik as Tony and Natalie Cortez as Anita, both of whom appeared in the 2009 Broadway revival of West Side Story.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valleybased award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company will kick off its 2018 theatrical season with a production of Dirty Blonde, a popular three-character comedy about the legendary Mae West, starring Steve Gunderson, Bets Malone, and Larry Raben, and directed by James Gruessing. The production will run February 2 11, 2018 with nine performances at the Annenberg Theater in the Palm Springs Art Museum.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella is sumptuous and fanciful and bursting with all of the ingredients necessary to make up the perfect family musical . The score is timeless and emotionally stirring. The costumes and scenic elements are candy for the eyes. The dancing ensemble is impeccable and the choreography is energetic and intoxicating. And, though this has not always been the case in recent touring musicals, the cast is superb. I do, however, wish to reiterate family musical . It is definitively a five star version of children's theatre (complete with hand puppets representing the woodland creatures that befriend Cinderella and help make her dreams a reality) and, despite the modern wit liberally inserted by book writer Douglas Carter Bean, is not likely a wholly satisfying evening for a grown up audience unaccompanied by little ones. There are two or three grown up laughs in the entire evening the balance is really for the children.

The McCallum Theatre's 30th Anniversary fundraising gala will be headlined by two of the McCallum Theatre's all-time favorite artists Chris Botti and The TEN Tenors in a very special performance on November 30. Proceeds from the 30th Anniversary Gala fundraising event help fund McCallum Theatre operations as well as arts education programs that bring training in theatre, dance, music and visual arts to 40,000 schoolchildren and educators each year, in more than 300 classrooms. These funds also make it possible to continue to bring world-class performances to over 150,000 residents and visitors to the Coachella Valley annually.
