The Lion King brings great entertainment to Omaha as it is a family favorite amongst the Disney Classics. This show brings such magic to the stage as it not only through the wonderful costumes, but through the music, the story and these fun filled characters. This show leaves you singing your favorite songs, repeating your favorite lines and smiling like you did when you first saw the classic Disney film.

All Night Strut! A Jumpin' Jivin' Jam opened at the Omaha Community Playhouse this past weekend and is running through March 30th, 2013 and is ready to take you back in time for a music and dance extravaganza. The cast of All Night Strut! A Jumpin' Jivin' Jam is made up of four phenomenal vocalists, a fantastic band and an ensemble of incredible dancers who also sing. This cast is by far one of the greatest that I have seen at the Playhouse, they harmonize well, they stay together and they have a great chemistry.

Yesterday and Today is an interactive Beatles experience featuring three brothers and a band of musicians. Up until the day of, I knew nothing about Yesterday and Today and hadn't really done my homework. I hadn't even heard that this was their fourth time in Omaha, or that the people in it grew up in Nebraska. But, funny enough, I kept hearing about this Beatles experience at the Omaha Community Playhouse and I kept thinking to myself, where are they performing, do they have a third theatre, etc.? When I finally realized that the show I was going to review was in fact "the Beatles experience" I was so excited! I grew up knowing who the Beatles were but not having really listened too much of their music or not realizing that a song was theirs, I didn't know all that much about them. A big thing to remember, don't let the McGuigan brothers know that, or you could in fact end up on stage shaking a tambourine, right alongside them.

Billy Elliot the winner of 10 Tony Awards in 2009 has made its way to the Orpheum Theatre in Omaha. Knowing very little about this show, I was hesitant as to what I might think about it. I knew the general story behind the show and I knew that it had won several Tony Awards while on Broadway, I even lived in New York City the majority of its Broadway run, but never did I have any desire to see it. Boy was I wrong! Now that I have seen this wonderful show I am kicking myself for not having given it the chance in New York but at the same time I am happy to say that I can now check it off my list and I will forever remember this phenomenal cast and their performance.

August: Osage County, the 2008 Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play has taken over the Omaha Community Playhouse. Thursday evening, I went to see this play for the first time and I was not really sure what I was getting myself into. All I knew was that it was a longer play (three and a half hours) about a dysfunctional family. Dysfunctional would be putting it lightly. This family has completely lost it and by losing it, I mean gone, out the window, crazy! Their eccentric personalities and interesting lifestyles will have you rolling over in laughter the whole evening!
