Ah, the struggles of becoming a teenager. We all know or remember the time when we were becoming a teenager, or in Evan Goldman's case, 'becoming a man'. In 13 the Musical, with original music by Jason Robert Brown, the audience gets to experience multiple accounts of turning 13 but most importantly, the new kid, Evan Goldman, and his struggle to plan the perfect Bar Mitzvah.

This weekend I had the great opportunity to meet the legendary, Tony and Grammy winning Kinky Boots star, Billy Porter! He was in town for a benefit event with Prima Theatre in Lancaster, PA which I attended and later got to participate in a meet and greet with him after the concert. It was only fitting for him to be here since the star grew up in Pennsylvania.

It's hard to forget the classic movie for all ages, Big. Tom Hanks played the title role of Josh Baskin who, as a child, wished he was 'big'. From there, Josh had to live with his wish and find out what being 'big' truly meant. This 1988 movie was then written into a musical and is currently running on the stage at The Fulton Theatre through the Eichmann Family Series productions.
