Im Haus am Ring ist die 1902 in Mailand uraufgefu?hrte Oper noch niemals erklungen, obgleich der veristische Stil des Komponisten Francesco Cile?a und die komplexe Liebes- und Eifersuchtsgeschichte der Oper nichts an Wirkung fehlen lassen. Adriana Lecouvreur liebt und wird vom Grafen von Sachsen wiedergeliebt - und findet doch durch ein vergiftetes Blumenbukett ihrer Konkurrentin den Tod. Geschickt haben Cile?a und sein Librettist Arturo Colautti die Handlung, die im Theatermilieu spielt, mit der geschichtlichen Realita?t verwoben. Die Titelfigur lebte wie ihr Liebhaber im 18. Jahrhundert und war eine fu?hrende Schauspielerin ihrer Zeit, Erdachtes und Historie bilden somit eine dichte, von Cile?a klanglich raffiniert angereicherte Einheit.

This opera premie?red in Milan in 1902 has never before been performed at the Opera House on the Ring, although the veristic style of the composer Francesco Cile?a and the complex story of love and jealousy are used to full effect in this work. Adriana Lecouvreur loves the Count of Saxony, who returns her love - but dies as a result of a bouquet of poisoned flowers sent her by her rival. Cile?a and his librettist Arturo Colautti skilfully interweave a story set in the world of the theatre with the historical reality. The title character and her lover lived in the 18th century, and she was a leading actress of her time. Fiction and history thus form a densely knit whole elaborately enriched by the music of Cile?a.

Elena Zhidkova, Principessa di Bouillon: Die russische Mezzosopranistin Elena Zhidkova gab ihr professionelles Operndebu?t an der Deutschen Oper Berlin in Go?tz Friedrichs Produktion von Eugen Onegin als Olga. Dort war sie weiters u. a. auch als Cherubino (Le nozze di Figaro) und Dorabella (Cosi? fan tutte) zu erleben. Kurz darauf folgte ihr Debu?t bei den Bayreuther Festspielen. Auftritte fu?hrten sie u. a. als Waltraute (Go?tterda?mmerung) ans Teatro Real Madrid, als Fricka (Der Ring des Nibelungen) nach Tokio, als Branga?ne (Tristan und Isolde) nach Madrid, Bilbao, Ko?ln, Frankfurt und Tokio, als Kundry (Parsifal) nach Nizza, Du?sseldorf und Lyon, als Venus (Tannha?user) an die Dresdner Semperoper, nach Frankfurt, Du?sseldorf und Bogota?, als Varvara (Ka?tja Kabanova?) nach Buenos Aires und als Adriano (Rienzi) nach Leipzig. 2008 gab sie ihr Debu?t als Judith (Herzog Blaubarts Burg) an der Maila?nder Scala, diese Partie verko?rperte sie u. a. am Mariinsky Theater, am Barbican Centre in London und an der Nederlandse Opera. Elena Zhidkova ist auch als Konzertsa?ngerin erfolgreich. Ku?nftige Auftritte umfassen u. a. Marie (Wozzeck) am New National Theatre in Tokio, Waltraute (Go?tterda?mmerung) in Sevilla und Fricka (Die Walku?re) in Genf.
