The Butterfly Club have a proud 17-year history of presenting independent cabaret, theatre, music, comedy and burlesque. For this year's Melbourne International Comedy Festival, they have rolled out their most ambitious and exciting program to date. Over the four weeks of the festival, they will play host to 19 productions, totalling 157 individual performances. Crazy? Probably. Logistical nightmare? Definitely. Brilliant? Absolutely.

After presenting their award-winning 2015 Melbourne Fringe program late last year, The Butterfly Club have redoubled their efforts - curating an incredible program of some of the finest acts in the festival.

"In curating this year's program, we were focussed on presenting high-quality work from across the diverse range of sub-genres that make this festival so strong," says Simone Pulga, Director of The Butterfly Club. "What we have landed on is a cross-section of some of the most talented comics this festival has ever seen. Whether you are looking for musical comedy, stand-up, sketch, burlesque or even x-rated trivia, chances are our line-up will have you covered".

Some key highlights of the program include:

- The festival's oldest newcomer, Lynn Ruth Miller (82 years old)

- Multi-award nominees such as Clara Cupcakes, Gillian Cosgriff, Jude Perl, Lady Sings It Better and Alice Tovey

- The return of festival favourites Jonestown and Radio Variety Hour

- The triumphant (and terrifying) return of Reuben Kaye, recently named the 10th most influential burlesque performer in the world (even though he is a cabaret performer...)

Ticket sales for the program have already doubled figures from last year, so the importance of booking is tantamount. See the full program here
