After selling out the Melbourne Recital Centre, a season on London's West End and three consecutive Edinburgh Festivals, David "The Master" Scheel returns to Melbourne. Scheel will be presenting his highly acclaimed show, Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player for a short season at The Butterfly Club.

David Scheel is widely regarded as one of the world's greatest maestros. His resume boasts over 1000 radio and television appearances and he has repeatedly sold out some of the worlds greatest classical stages.

In Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player, his virtuosity is front and centre, gilded by his sharp wit and keen observational humour. Playing and satirising the classics in his characteristic style have led to favourable comparisons to the legendary Victor Borge, whom he lovingly satirises at one point in the night.

Other highlights include playing Bach with his left hand, while playing Lloyd-Webber with his right, and his raucous "translation" of the lyrics of Waltzing Matilda. Non-classically trained ears need not worry, as he turns his attention to Everything You Need To Know About Classical Music In Five Minutes.

A night with David Scheel is pleasure for the eyes, ears and soul. International media have come to know him simply as "The Master" - a name truly earned in Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player.

The production opens on Wednesday, the 18th of March and runs for 5 nights. Tickets can be purchased at thebutterflyclub.com.
