"Tinserella- Putting the G'Day in Cabaret" is a one-woman comedy cabaret that pays no'tention to any storyline but purely craves to crack you up. Writer and performer Joana Simmons has collected her favourite alter egos and imaginary friends and flung them into a sack of satirical songs and physical comedy. Featuring the celebrity guest impersonations of Mariah Carey and Lindsay Lohan, it is a combination of quips and quirks guarantee to put the G'Day in Cabaret.

The show's comedic caricatures are as eclectic as the inspiration whence they came: there' s a tapper, a dancer, a hipster, a vixen, a comic, a muted madonna, and chicken. Tinserella mixes some 80's pop essentials with original music by Carmen O'Brien (Rapskallion) and Jamie Burgess (Handsome Devil, Impromptunes). Audiences will be guaranteed to find something to tap their toes to ("A Tappy Day to You") or find themselves kind-of-maybe amused by the ironic harmonics of "It's not easy being a hipster."

Joana Simmons has performed in a variety of genres and festivals including; Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Falls Festival and Rainbow Serpent. She was a semi-finalist with "Miss Friby (and the Fribbles)" on Australia's Got Talent. Tinserella is her debut show as a writer and solo performer, with the premier season "Tinserella-Keeping Christmas Safe" at Club Voltaire last year.

Tinserella- Putting the G'Day in Cabaret runs from 29th September - 4th October at 10.00pm. Tickets cost $20-$25 and performances will be held at The Butterfly Club, 5 Carson Place (Off Little Collins St.)
