"I don't remember a time in my life when I wasn't listening to voices, to great singers and their songs. From the shining purity of Julie Andrews to the torchlike quality of Billie Holiday or the heartbreaking vulnerability of Judy Garland or Edith Piaf. Each great voice I was exposed to and each great song they sang, excited and moved me over and over. I find something new and wondrous in so many styles and genres; the brilliance of Barbra Streisand, the soft smoky quality of Sarah Vaughan, the delicious twang of Tammy Wynette and so many others. I am fascinated by them all. This special concert is anchored by Jane Siberry's song 'Calling All Angels' and I'll also perform some other pieces by my favourite contemporary songwriters. It's my chance to summon and pay homage to some of my favourite angels of song." - Bernadette Robinson
