The National Theatre has announced additional show titles for the third season of National Theatre Live (NT Live), a successful initiative to broadcast live performances from the National's stages to cinemas worldwide.

In addition to the previously scheduled broadcasts of Collaborators (December 1) and The Comedy of Errors (March 1), the season will include Travelling Light (February 9) and She Stoops to Conquer (March 29).

Since its first season, which began in June 2009 with the acclaimed production of Phédre starring Helen Mirren, over half a million people have now experienced the National's acclaimed work on movie screens around the world.

NCM Fathom has partnered with The National Theatre to bring the broadcasts to over 300 cities across North America.

Exhibition dates and cinema locations are available at www.ntlive.com. These live performances will be broadcast from The National Theatre in London.

DECEMBER 1, 2011
COLLABORATORS is a four-star production of a new play by John Hodge (screenwriter of Trainspotting, The Beach) directed by Nicholas Hytner. The play centers on an imaginary encounter between Joseph Stalin and the playwright Mikhail Bulgakov. Collaborators features 'dream casting of Alex Jennings as Bulgakov and Simon Russell Beale as Stalin... A truly tremendous double act which thrills, chills and makes you laugh out loud - even though you know you shouldn't.' (Daily Telegraph). 'Collaborators is fresh and energetic, with a thick, throbbing vein of grotesque humour.' (Evening Standard)

FEBRUARY 9, 2012
TRAVELLING LIGHT, a new play by Nicholas Wright, is a funny and fascinating tribute to the Eastern European immigrants who became major players in Hollywood's golden age. The award-winning actor Antony Sher returns to the National's stage, directed by Nicholas Hytner.

MARCH 1, 2012
Shakespeare's furiously paced THE COMEDY OF ERRORS, directed by Dominic Cooke (artistic director of London's Royal Court Theatre), is staged in a contemporary world starring the hugely popular and 'wonderfully funny' (The Independent) comedian and actor Lenny Henry making his NT debut. THE COMEDY OF ERRORS 'is a crowd-pleasing show that brings festive, risqué cheer to the National'. (Evening Standard).

MARCH 29, 2012
Oliver Goldsmith's SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER is one of the great, generous-hearted and ingenious comedies of the English language. The celebrated play, directed by Jamie Lloyd, offers a celebration of chaos, courtship and the dysfunctional family.

The National Theatre, founded in 1963, and established on the South Bank of the River Thames in London in 1976, has three theatres – the Olivier, the Lyttelton and the Cottesloe. It presents an eclectic mix of new plays and classics, with seven or eight productions in repertory (sharing the stages) at any one time. Actors often appear in more than one play during a season or return to the National regularly. The National aims constantly to re-energise the great traditions of the British stage and to expand the horizons of audiences and artists alike, and aspires to reflect in its repertoire the diversity of the nation's culture. With its extensive programme of Platform performances, backstage tours, foyer music, exhibitions, and free outdoor entertainment the National recognises that the theatre doesn't begin and end with the rise and fall of the curtain. By touring – and now, National Theatre Live - it shares its work with audiences in the UK and abroad.
