Marina Prior will take centre stage at upcoming Morning Melodies concerts this Monday 23 September at Arts Centre Melbourne, Hamer Hall. Prior has graciously stepped into the sold-out performances as headliner David Hobson is unwell and unabe to perform.

Marina Prior is regarded as Australia's leading lady of musical theatre, having performed over 20 leading roles in her career so far. She rose to stardom when she played Christine in The Phantom of the Opera and was honoured with being named one of Australia's 100 Entertainers of the Century.

Prior's vast repertoire includes musical theatre, jazz, contemporary, and light opera. In her Morning Melodies performance, audiences will be captivated by a stunning selection of her favourite songs from such shows as The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Les Miserables.

Since it began at Arts Centre Melbourne nearly 29 years ago, Morning Melodies has gone from strength to strength and has been replicated in arts centres across Australia. Highly popular with daytime audiences, Morning Melodies brings its loyal patrons together ten times a year for musical variety at its best, including shows from the country's leading musical theatre, opera and classical musicians.

The most successful Morning Melodies concert series in recent memory, music-lovers can still enjoy the final two 2013 concerts, including Victorian Opera: Stars of Tomorrow on Monday 18 November and the ever-popular Christmas Melodies on Thursday 19 December.

Marina Prior is currently in the middle of a national tour, including an extensive tour of regional Victoria.
