MY FAIR LADY Scoops the Pool with Nine Helpmann Award Nominations

It was announced last night that Opera Australia and John Frost's production of My Fair Lady has been nominated for nine Helpmann Awards, the production receiving the highest number of award nominations for 2017.

Lerner & Loewe's My Fair Lady received nominations in all of the major categories including Best Musical and Best Direction of a Musical for Julie Andrews.
My Fair Lady's 2017 Helpmann Award Nominations are:

BEST DIRECTION OF A MUSICAL - Julie Andrews

BEST CHOREOGRAPHY IN A MUSICAL - Christopher Gattelli

BEST FEMALE ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MUSICAL - Robyn Nevin

BEST MALE ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN A MUSICAL - Reg Livermore

BEST FEMALE ACTOR IN A MUSICAL - Anna O'Byrne

BEST MALE ACTOR IN A MUSICAL - Charles Edwards

BEST MUSICAL - My Fair Lady

My Fair Lady received rave reviews at the Sydney Opera House where it broke attendance records in 2016. The five-star accolades continued in Brisbane and Melbourne where it is currently playing at the Regent Theatre until July 29 and tickets to the final performances are on sale now. The production will then travel to Sydney for a return season at the Capitol Theatre from August 24 and new tickets are set to be released on Monday 26 June.
