A Christmas Celebration of Courage, Joy and Love.  A Celebration of the wonderful work of the School of Hard Knocks.

Presented by the School of Hard Knocks, Hand In Hand celebrates the true spirit of Christmas with songs of joy, love and courage, Saturday December 10th, 3pm at the Melbourne Town Hall.

There is such a tremendous buzz of excitement in the air as the Absolutely Everybody massed choir is in the final stages of preparation for Hand In Hand - a Celebration of Courage, Joy & Love! Melbourne Town Hall on Saturday December 10th at 3pm.

“It’s so wonderful to see everyone’s joy singing these beautiful songs - soaring arias, gospel and popular classics, that are so very well known and loved!" Dr Jonathon Welch AM, Founding Artistic Director of the School of Hard Knocks, exclaimed. "There is nothing quite as inspiring and glorious as a massed chorus singing!”

Over 300 singers will take part in our Absolutely Everybody massed choir.  The School has community choirs right across Melbourne” Jonathon explained proudly. “So singers are from the Voices of Brimbank, Latrobe Valley Community Choir, All Together Choir, Western Health Choir, Voices of Casey, the Choir of Opportunity, Hallelujah Gospel Chorus and Voices of Frankston”.

“Each of the choirs rehearse regularly during the year, but it’s definitely an amazing experience and a huge celebration for us when we all come together to perform!  The friendships, community and connections which have been made through our “musical family”, and of course the music, just make these concerts incredibly special” Jonathon said.

While you listen to beautiful arias from your favourite operas, groove to gospel and swoon to classics you love, know that your support will assist the School of Hard Knocks to deliver a wide range of arts and cultural initiatives to people experiencing disadvantage across a number of sectors of our community.

Funds raised through Hand In Hand will help support the School of Hard Knocks to further expand their new women’s and men’s choir programs, No Excuses! and Men Aloud!, singing out against family violence!

Hand In Hand also features Liane Keegan, John Bolton Wood AM, XL ARTS, the award winning Footscray Yarraville City Band, Phillipa Edwards, THECHO!R, Dr Kathleen McGuire and Jonathon.

Tickets start at just $28 for adults and $23 for concession and under 18 . Don’t miss out!!!! Come, be inspired and celebrate with us!
