The City Theatre is thrilled to announce the special stage presentation of Robert Bolt's celebrated drama A Man for All Seasons, the thought provoking and timely play of politics, religion, and power. CTC's resident director Jeff Hinkle, (Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Hair, Cyrano de Bergerac, and the acclaimed A Streetcar Named Desire) directs the production lead by an all-star cast of Garry Peters, Roy Mullin, Rick Felkins, Scot Friedman, Mick D'Arcy and Wendy Zavaleta. Performances begin February 12th through March 6th at The City Theatre.

"I think that when statesmen forsake their own private conscience for the sake of their public duties, they lead their country by a short route to chaos." - Thomas More

Politics is a dangerous place for a good man - that warning looms in the shadows of Robert Bolt's play.

Based on his fascinating true story, Seasons is the powerful historical portrait of Sir Thomas More - counselor to King Henry VIII - and the unfaltering will in what he believes. The powerful King desires to divorce his barren first wife and marry another. More gets drawn into and trapped in a position of responsibility he never sought. He is torn between his religious beliefs, his family, his duty to the King, and his friendship. Against all odds, he must remain steadfast - a man for all seasons. The play was brought to life in the classic film starring Paul Scofield, Orson Welles, Vanessa Redgrave, Susannah York and Robert Shaw. The show went on to win the Tony Award for Best Play and the Academy Award for Best Picture.

"I do none harm, I say none harm, I think none harm. And if this be not enough to keep a man alive, in good faith I long not to live." - Thomas More.

Beneath Season's classical language and period clothing lies a parallel place in our current political climate and practicality, where today, things may not always be what they seem and a man's genuinely held beliefs offer him as much protection as a flower in a raging storm. Director Jeff Hinkle comments "Seasons is truly a great play, but also very contemporary, dealing with political vs human issues on an immediate level in today's culture. In our history, the fear always exists in losing our voice and how do we remain true to it. In the current political landscape, this still holds true today and the play draws those parallels."

The City Theatre has assembled one of the finest company of actors for the show including Garry Peters (The Common Man), Roy Mullin (Thomas More), Rick Felkins (Duke of Norfolk), Scot Friedman (Thomas Cromwell), Wendy Zavaleta (Alice More), Victoria Barton Rosenthal (Margaret More), Mick D'Arcy (Cardinal Wolsey), Denver Surenger (Richard Rich), Larry Oliver (Chapuys), Darren Scharf (Will Roper)
Levi Gore (Henry VIII), and Sebastian Garcia (Attendant).
