TexARTS Association for the Performing and Visual Arts and Producing Artistic Director Robert M. Armitage have announced two wildly imaginative productions for the 2014 spring season.

The Rockin' Tale of Snow White
April 26 - 27 and May 3 - 4
2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The TexARTS Youth Musical Theatre Academy presents this fresh and funny adaptation that will make even the most jaded among us laugh out loud. New characters and comedic twists come to life as a modern mom reads the Brothers Grimm tale to her restless children. With its tongue-in-cheek humor and catchy songs, this family musical is fused with a rousing mixture of hip-hop, rock and roll, doo wop and more! Directed by Natalia Luna, choreographed by Cassie Eckerman and music directed by Jamie Shaw. Shows run April 26 - 27 and May 3 - 4 at 2 and 6 p.m.

Xanadu
May 10 - 11 and 17 - 18
1p.m. and 6 p.m.

The TexARTS Teen Musical Theatre Academy will bring the outlandish Broadway musical Xanadu to the stage. Based on the 1980 Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly cult classic film, Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first ROLLER DISCO! This hilarious, roller skating, musical adventure features the pop hits, "Magic", "All Over The World", "Suddenly", "I'm Alive", "Evil Woman", "Have You Never Been Mellow" and "Xanadu." It's hilarity on wheels for anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired. Directed by Keenah Armitage, choreographed by Kiira Schmidt and music directed by Nissa Kahle. Shows run May 10-11 and 17-18 at 1 and 6 p.m.

All performances will be held at the Kam & James Morris Theatre at TexARTS (2300 Lohman's Spur, Suite #160, Lakeway, TX). All ages are welcome. Tickets for reserved seating are $15 and are available at www.tex-arts.org or by calling the TexARTS Box Office at 512-852-9079 x101.
