Slave Letters: letters and songs about love, loss, and liberation during slavery.
Created and Conceived by Mark-Brian Sonna
January 28 - February 14, 2016
During the slave era of the United States most slaves were illiterate, but some secretly learned how to read and write. Some of these letters have survived and chronicle the daily life of slavery. While many detail the terrible conditions of slavery, others express intense humanity. These letters of love, longing, hope, and the quest for freedom are at times uplifting, horrifying, and even humorous, giving a voice to those who were oppressed. The reading of these letters is interspersed with Negro Spirituals and Slave Songs from the era. This ground breaking production is the first in its kind AS it gives a voice to the millions who were subjugated.

Dante: Paradiso
By Alejandro de la Costa
March 17- April 9, 2016
Dante: Paradiso is the third book of the Divine Comedy, but it is a book that can stand alone because it is so unique. Dante meets the soul of his departed love Beatrice who guides him through celestial heaven in search of God. The story is both a travelogue and a series of motivational stories on how to overcome adversity in life by those whom he meets in his journey. This production will uplift you with its narrative, poetry, music, timeless advice, and will leave you inspired. Translated by Mark-Brian Sonna.

Kiss the Boys
By Mark-Brian Sonna
May 19- June 11
Most murder mysteries are based on the concept of "who dunnit?" This sexy comedy is a case of "will the murders ever get done?'" A gay couple decides to hold a most unusual dinner party. They each have invited the one person that hurt them the most in their life in order to murder them. The plan is simple: poisonEd Martinis will be served to the two guests. How complicated can it be? Chaos ensues when an uninvited guest shows up who won't drink alcohol. One guest has become a born again Christian and plans to redeem the Gay couple from their life of sin. Another will only drink beer. Oh, did we mention that not everyone in this gathering of five is being truthful and may have an ulterior motive of which murder is also a part? You'll laugh as you squirm in your seat not knowing if, who, how, and when someone might get murdered! We did the original world premiere in 2006 and it brings us much pleasure to bring it back. "truly hilarious... orchestrated bedlam gone wild." Alexandra Bonifield - Critical rant and rave. "Kiss the Boys...succeeds beautifully - or rather, hunkily." Arnold Wayne Jones, Dallas Voice. "This sexy comedy is a twist on the old whodunnit." - D Magazine. "5 Stars" AOL.com

Querolus, or Missed Fortune (poster pictured)
Anonymous,
July 14- August 7
The comedy hit of the 5th Century gets its American premiere with this fresh new translation. Querolus is a grumpy man who is very poor. He knows he inherited from his father a cache of gold, but he doesn't know where to find it. His father's friend, Mandrogerus, knows where it's hidden within Querolus' home and schemes to steal it. In order to get the gold, he devises an elaborate PLAN and hires a few people to steal the fortune. What Mandrogerus doesn't realize is that people he hired are also con men and are in search of the missing fortune too. This deliciously naughty and bawdy comedy is full of back stabbing, double dealing, and plot twists that made it one of the most beloved and widely performed plays during the late Roman era and early Middle Ages.
