Celebrating its 30th year in 2014, Austin Shakespeare announces its cast for Shakespeare's greatest tale of jealousy and passion: Othello, to be presented February 13 - March 2 at The Long Center's Studio Theatre, where Austin Shakespeare is a resident company. Marc Pouhé will return in the title role; "Othello". The title character was also Pouhé's first major Shakespeare role in 2005; subsequently he starred as Macbeth for then new Artistic Director, Ann Ciccolella, who will direct this new Othello production.

After a winning a battle against a long-term, serious illness, Marc returns to the stage. A three-time winner of the Austin Critics' Table Award, Marc has appeared on TV in Prison Break and Friday Night Lights, and on a lighter note, Marc is the voice of Dogbert in the animated web series on Dilbert.com.

Directed by Ann Ciccolella, Othello features a number of actors who have worked with Austin Shakespeare in previous productions, as well as throughout the Austin theater scene:

Michael Miller (Iago); Sara Cormier (Desdemona); Johanna Whitmore (Emilia); Keith Paxton (Cassio); Nathan Brockett (Lodovico); Robert Stevens (Montano); Tom Green (Brabantio/Gratiano); David Boss (Duke) and Alison Stebbins (Bianca). Plus, actors new to Austin Shakespeare: Bobby Byers (Roderigo) Rob Zaleski, and Trace Pope in the ensemble.
