As part of Aurora Theatre's annual Teatro del Sol, a Spanish language theatre initiative with a goal of the preservation of Hispanic cultural heritage, Real Women Have Curves plays April 10-26, 2015. Based on playwright Josefina Lopez's own young adult experiences, this widely recognized portrayal of immigration and its impact on women and their families has sparked a greater conversation and call to action for young immigrants struggling to defy the odds and achieve the American dream.
Ahead of Tomorrow's Court Decision, 150K Sign Petition to Free Miami Seaquarium Orca
(3/23/2015) - Tomorrow, March 24, Atlanta's 11th Circuit Court of Appeal will consider a lawsuit challenging the USDA's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service for continuing to renew Miami Seaquarium's exhibition license for Lolita the orca, despite evidence of noncompliance with the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). The 11th Circuit hearing is scheduled for 9 AM on Tuesday, March 24, at the James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building in downtown Miami.
Actor's Express Set for Westside Momentum Initiative
