True Colors Theatre Company to Present LIFE: 20/20, 3/9

Kenny Leon's True Colors Theatre Company and the Georgia Innocence Project invite you to join us for a pay what you can performance of Life: 20/20 on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 7 PM at Fulton County's Southwest Arts Center. Life: 20/20, a new release from the Georgia Innocence Project is inspired by the life of their first exoneree, Clarence Harrison who tells stories from his experience during the time he was wrongly incarcerated. Harrison will be joined by musicians Melanie Hammet and Ben Holst in this evening of music and stories.

Approaching the 10th anniversary of his release, Clarence Harrison was proven innocent by DNA evidence after serving 18 years in prison. His story inspired Hammet and Holst to write the music that has become Life 20/20 and their larger project, Life Sentence, chronicling Clarence's journey from wrongful incarceration to freedom.

The music of Life 20/20 has been featured on CNN, Al Jazeera English, Atlanta's NBC affiliate and more. Life Sentence: The Album (the next step in the project) will ultimately feature fully-produced versions of the trio's songs about Clarence's life, performed by a diverse collection of renowned Georgia artists across a variety of genres, from hip-hop and R&B to rock, pop and country. As with Life 20/20, the goal of Life Sentence: The Album is to raise money and awareness for the Georgia Innocence Project so that the organization can continue its mission to exonerate the wrongly convicted.

Following the performance there will be an audience Q&A with exoneree Clarence Harrison and staff members of the Georgia Innocence Project. The Georgia Innocence Project is encouraging legal questions on behalf of loved ones.

True Colors is co-presenting this performance and discussion as part of our pre-production community conversation series for the upcoming production Race.
