Atlanta Lyric Theatre, the metro area's only local professional musical theatre company begins its 30th anniversary season with the multiple Tony Award winner, THE Will Rogers FOLLIES September 4 - 20 at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre (117 N. Park Square, Marietta). Subtitled "A Life In Revue," THE Will Rogers FOLLIES presents the wit and wisdom of the famed entertainer, cowboy, comedian, philosopher and movie and Broadway star. With a bevy of show?stopping numbers using as a backdrop the Ziegfeld Follies which he often headlined, the life of Will Rogers is chronicled in grand theatrical style featuring showgirls in feathers and beads, chorus boys in boots and glitzy chaps and a massive lighted staircase for them to parade in true Broadway style production numbers. Gorgeous show girls, rope tricks, and big dance numbers THE Will Rogers FOLLIES is Broadway spectacle at its best!

Brandt Blocker is the Stage and Music Director and Cindy Mora is the choreographer with production design by Drew Monahan, lighting design by Bradley Bergeron and costumes provided by Kansas City Costume.

The show stars Alan Kilpatrick as 'Will Rogers'; Christy Baggett as 'Betty Blake'; Natalie Barrow as ‘Ziegfeld's Favorite', and reprising his role as ‘Clem Rogers' in the last national tour of THE Will Rogers FOLLIES is Chris McDaniel. Also in the talented cast are Becky Simmons, Dixie Light, Priscilla Curtis, Megan Reardon, Sims Lamason, Jennifer Smiles, Katie Borden, Brett Parker, Brad Southards, Jeremy Wood, Josh Donahue and others.

THE Will Rogers FOLLIES has music by Cy Coleman (Little Me, Sweet Charity, Barnum) with lyrics by Adolph Green and Betty Comden (Singin' in the Rain, Applause, Wonderful Town), the book is by Peter Stone. The acclaimed musical began performances on Broadway on April 1, 1991 and played 33 previews and 981 performances at the Palace Theatre. It won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical and Original Score as well as Drama Desk Awards for Musical and for the Music.
