Out Front Theatre Company, Atlanta's foremost theatre that exists to tell stories of the LGBTQIA experience and community, is excited to announce their inaugural season and to erupt onto the Atlanta Arts landscape with a season of productions and events that will enthrall, entice and entertain audiences and artists alike.

Kicking off Out Front's first season will be the Georgia Premiere of the smash Broadway hit Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical.

Based on the popular 1994 film of the same name, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical follows Mitzi Del Bra, (aka Anthony "Tick" Belrose) Bernadette Bassenger and Felicia Jollygoodfellow (aka Adam Whitely) on a run-down old bus (they call it Priscilla) as they set out on a road trip across the Australian Outback. Tick, is invited by his ex-wife to perform his drag show at her far-away resort. However, he is hesitant to tell his friends, Bernadette (a former performing icon who's best days are behind her) and Adam (a rambunctious young troublemaker), his own personal reasons for taking the trip. During their journey, the trio encounters an array of Australian citizens, some of who aren't receptive to their lifestyle, while strengthening their own friendship.

With a dazzling array of outrageous dance floor favorites including It's Raining Men, I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, Go West, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I Love The Nightlife, this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of fabulous!

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical runs October 20, 2016 through November 6, 2016.

A Kid Like Jake, by Daniel Pearle, will be presented by Out Front in its Southeastern Premiere.

On the eve of the admissions cycle for Manhattan's most exclusive private schools, Alex and Greg have high hopes for their son Jake, a precocious four-year-old who happens to prefer Cinderella to G.I. Joe. But as the process continues, Jake's behavior becomes erratic and perplexing, and other adults in his life start to wonder whether his fondness for dress-up might be cause for concern. The story of a husband and wife struggling to do right by their son, A Kid Like Jake is a study of intimacy and parenthood and the fantasies that accompany both.

A Kid Like Jake runs February 9, 2017 through February 26, 2017.

Concluding Out Front's premiere season will be Paul Rudnick's hilarious The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told - which has not been see in Georgia since 2008.

Inspired by the fundamentalist remark, "God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told in another version of Biblical history. Act One recounts the major episodes of the Old Testament, only with a twist: Instead of Adam and Eve, our lead characters are Adam and Steve, and Jane and Mabel, a lesbian couple with whom they decide to start civilization (procreation proves to be a provocative challenge) These two gay couples navigate the centuries together as friends. As they encounter various different odd characters, we follow them through a crazed historical pageant that brings us down to a present-day Christmas party in Chelsea. In the end, only love and family (and possibly some nod to a divine power) can provide any kind of shelter against the bombardments of existence.

The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told runs April 27, 2017 through May 14, 2017.

All performances for all productions are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm and Sundays at 3 pm.
