Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, announces a new kid-centric initiative called FamilyStage: Adventure Series that will provide exciting weekend performances for the whole family throughout the school year at the theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.

Launching this exciting series will be the lovable character of Junie B. Jones taking the stage with Junie B. Jones the Musical, running three Saturdays (November 5, 12, & 19) at 11:00 a.m. On hand at the ribbon-cutting for this special occasion were members of the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, the cast and director of Junie B. About the Show:

Junie B. Jones The Musical

Book & Lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich. The production is adapted from the Book Series by Barbara Park and directed by Laurel Crowe.

Junie is here to share her first grade year in this delightful musical based on the award-winning book series. Junie B. Jones will have you dancing and singing along to Junie's "Top Secret Personal Beeswax" as Junie B. navigates her first day of first grade. Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses, and all of Junie's friends are changing. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, and a kickball tournament, and things are about to get pretty exciting!

Junie B. Jones features a wonderful cast of Atlanta performers, including: Bekah Medford (One Slight Hitch at GET); Kate Johnson ( The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe at GET), Taryn Janelle (first production of Junie B. Jones at GET), Ty Autry (Calendar Girls at GET), Alejandro Guttierez (first production of Junie B. Jones at GET) and Josh Brook (Peter and the Starcatcher at GET).

The FamilyStage: Adventure Series Line-Up for the 2016-2017 Season:

This exciting new initiative will continue all year long on Saturdays (and one Sunday) through April of 2017.

  • January 7, 2017 - Turn Homeward, HAnna Lee performed by Tattling Tales
  • January 14 & 21, 2017 - S.T.E.A.M. Team performed by GET (a commissioned piece by award-winning Atlanta playwright, Topher Payne)
  • February 19, 2017 (Sunday performance at 6:30pm) - And Then They Came For Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frankperformed by GET (20th anniversary production)
  • February 25, 2017 - A Ticket to History performed by John Doyle
  • March 4, 2017 - Diggery Digger's Dino Show performed by The Story Ship
  • April 8, 2017 - Acting Out Improv performed by Laughing Matters
  • April 15, 2017 - TBA
  • April 22, 2017 - James and the Giant Peach performed by GET

Rounding out the season is Having Our Say, The Delany Sisters First 100 Years, February 16 - March 5, 2017 directed by Andrea Frye; and the final production, running April 6-23, 2017, is the mega hit musical Million Dollar Quartet being directed by Brandt Blocker.
