Richard Frazier, a drama and dance teacher from Warner Robins, Georgia, has accepted an appointment to the Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) Board of Directors. Frazier was tapped by the EdTA board to fill a vacancy created by a resignation. The appointment is effective immediately. His term on the board will run until July 31, 2017.

A 2011 graduate of Columbus State University, Frazier is in his fifth year of teaching at Northside High School in Warner Robins. He was named Northside's Teacher of the Year and Columbus State's Outstanding Alumnus in 2014. He has been active in Georgia Thespians since his induction into Troupe 3414 at Rockdale County High School in Conyers, Georgia in 2003. He co-directs Thespian Troupe 2982 at Northside, is conference coordinator for the Georgia Junior Thespian Conference, and is a member of the Georgia State Chapter Board. He was the choreographer for two Georgia All State Shows (Aida, 2012, and In the Heights, 2014) that were presented on both the Georgia State Thespian Festival and the International Thespian Festival main stages.

"[Richard is] a dynamic young teacher with experience with both middle and high school theatre programs, and a tireless worker for students," said EdTA Board President Frank Pruet. "We look forward to having his energy and insight on our board."

"EdTA and the Thespian Society have been part of my life since my first year of high school," said Frazier. "I am humbled and grateful to have this opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors."
