Cast Announced for PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT at Out Front Theatre Company

Out Front Theatre Company, Atlanta's foremost theatre that exists to tell stories of the LGBTQIA experience and community, has announced casting for the Georgia premiere of the smash Broadway hit Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical. The show will launch the company's first season, playing October 20 - November 6.

Based on the popular 1994 film of the same name, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical follows Mitzi Del Bra, (a.k.a Anthony "Tick" Belrose) Bernadette Bassenger and Felicia Jollygoodfellow (a.k.a Adam Whitely) on a run-down old bus they call Priscilla, as they set out on a road trip across the Australian Outback. Tick, is invited by his ex-wife to perform his drag show at her far-away resort. However, he is hesitant to tell his friends, Bernadette (a former performing icon who's best days are behind her) and Adam (a rambunctious young troublemaker), his own personal reasons for taking the trip. During their journey, the trio encounters an array of Australian citizens, some of who aren't receptive to their lifestyle, while strengthening their own friendship.

With a dazzling array of outrageous dance floor favorites including It's Raining Men, I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, Go West, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I Love The Nightlife, this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of fabulous!

The lead roles of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical include Justin Thompson as Tick, Jason-Jamal Ligon as Adam and Robert Ray as Bernadette. Completing the cast are Joe Arnotti, Angela Christie, Hannah Craton, Ally Duncan, Brianna Gilliam, Alex Huff, Gia Nappo, Kyle Nichols, Michael Shikany, Taj Stevens, RoMel Taylor, Luke Tucker, Megan Wartell and Dakota Whitlock.

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical is directed and choreographed by Paul Conroy, with music direction by Nick Silvestri.

The show will be performed Thursday, October 20 - Sunday, November 6. The performance schedule is: Thursday- Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at outfronttheatre.com or by calling 404-448-2755. Ticket prices are $15 for children, $20 for students and seniors, and $25 for adults.
