boom! theater company presents "tangleplay" as part of the 18th annual New York International Fringe Festival. Playing at the Clemente in the Abrazo Interno Gallery August 8th through the 24th, "tangleplay" is written and directed by Steven Ackley, Artistic Director and Company Member of boom! theater company.

"tangleplay" is the prequel to the 2012 FringeNYC Excellence in Overall Production winner "boxplay" and focuses on Glenda Strong and a place called The Maze where she is commissioned to lose her identity with the help of the people she meets including the audience. "tangleplay" is about letting go, losing yourself for something or someone whether you are forced to or by choice.

Starring Elissa Joy Eskridge, Angus Maxwell, Ellen Steves, Daniel Theyer, Robert Kompare, Jon Stewart, Greg Mallios, and Mike Harris. Assistant Director Chelsea Hanawalt, Sound by John Braun, Costumes by Ellen Steves and Steven Ackley, Set by Angus Maxwell and Steven Ackley, Lights by Angus Maxwell.

boom! theater company is a group of artists, dancers, and performers in Brooklyn, New York who create new work that is uncommon and invigorating. Since our start in the summer of 2009, boom! has created over 20 brand new main works and site specific performance pieces in Seattle as well as California, Colorado, and New York. We create work that is varied in genre, structure, and purpose. We are always exploring.
