Zachary Quinto Talks GLASS MENAGERIE & More On HOWARD STERN
Broadway headliner and rising Hollywood star Zachary Quinto took some time from his busy stage and screen schedule to visit Howard Stern's Sirius/XM radio show earlier this week and discussed his acclaimed performance in the current hit revival of the Tennessee Williams drama THE GLASS MENAGERIE as well as the STAR TREK film series, his Production Company and much more as part of a new interview.
When asked about his time spent with THE GLASS MENAGERIE, Quinto reveals "I actually really have never enjoyed a job more than this one, to be honest."
When questioned if he would sacrifice a film career for a theatre career, Quinto shares, "I did sort of intimate that in an interview once. I don't know that I would give it up completely, but the fact that I have come back to the theatre is something that is so important to me - it's a goal that I set for myself when I came out of school and started acting professionally."
Furthermore, Quinto says of the allure of the theatre for him, "I do it for the experience - I do it because I never feel more at home than when I am onstage. It informs the rest of my work - it deepens my own experience."
Additionally, Quinto opines of the Broadway eight-performances-a-week schedule, "There's something ritualistic about it - you do the same thing every night at the same time; your body moves in the same way; and, you say the same things."
But, does that ever get a bit boring? "Oh, sure - sometimes, absolutely!" Quinto candidly states.
"It's like anything else that you do repetitively - you wear away your resistance, you know. So, over time, a performance becomes a little more nuanced and a little easier," Quinto relates.
