In Extremis Theater Company is pleased to announce its world-premiere production of Happy by Liz Thaler (The Fresh Fruit Festival's The Peddler's Tale, FringeNYC's Courtney and Kathleen: A Riot Act) as part of F*ckFest, a sex-positive theater festival at The Brick. This production, directed by Lauren Miller (FringeNYC's How Do You Say Mother in Esperanto?, Producer of newTACTics at TACT/The Actors Company Theatre) and produced by Peryn Schmitt, will be presented at The Brick in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (579 Metropolitan Avenue) for 4 performances: Today, June 20th at 2PM, Sunday June 21st at 5PM, Saturday June 27th at 6PM, and Sunday June 28th at 5PM. The performance runs 95 minutes with no intermission.

Happy originated as a 10-minute play in Amios' monthly short-play series Shotz at the Kraine Theater in December 2013, and was later expanded into a full-length and developed by Amios in a rehearsed staged reading in April 2014. Happy is billed as follows: "Sparks fly when kink novice Alex encounters professional dominant Luke at a fetish party. But when these private roles clash with their public selves, how do they know what's real and make-believe? A serio-comedy about what turns us on, what shuts us down, and what really makes us Happy."

The production features performances from Todd Lawson (Broadway's Summer and Smoke, TACT's Abundance) and Hanna Cheek (TACT's Happy Birthday, The Public Theater's GOODBAR), as well as Michael Grew, David Jenkins, Cassandra Paras, and Kathleen Wallace. Scenic design is by Chris D'Angelo, lighting design is by Catherine DiGirolamo, sound design is by Robert Gonyo, and costume design is by Courtney Butt. Sean Michael Chin served as fight director. Production photos were taken by Clark Kim, poster art created by Kata Kane.

In Extremis Theater Company makes plays about strange people. We are devoted to exploring skewed realities and characters who struggle with-or reject entirely-society's constraints. Focusing on the emotional and psychological tumult within us all, we seek to explore deviance, taboo, and unflattering emotions: the vexing aspects of human nature. Because life is, generally, larger than life.

Tickets ($18) are available in person at the box office at The Brick (579 Metropolitan Avenue), or online at www.bricktheater.com/f*ckfest.
