The Provincetown Theatre in Provincetown, Massachusetts will host a week long workshop and subsequent reading of the new musical "Sybil" starring Liz Callaway (Baby, Miss Saigon) and Melissa van Der Schyff (Broadway's Bonnie & Clyde and Big River).

Based on the case history and bestselling book by Flora Rheta Schreiber, "Sybil" tells the true story of a woman with pronounced Disassociative Identity Disorder (multiple personalities) played by van der Schyff. Using a chorus of Sybil's eight other "selves" the show takes us on a musical journey from World War II Omaha, to 50's and 60's era New York City as she and her brilliant psychoanalyst, Cornelia Wilbur (Callaway) try to not only piece together the mysterious and traumatic reason for Sybil's shattered psyche, but also the many faces, memories and colors of a lost young woman who simply wants to be normal.

With book and lyrics by Owen Robertson (Saving Anne) and music by Alan Cancelino (The White Rose), this next iteration of the musical's development is directed by Stephen Nachamie (Olney Theatre's A Chorus Line and Camelot). The show is being guided by independent film producer Norman Stephens who produced the most recent CBS-TV movie version of the property staring Jessica Lange and Tammy Blanchard.

Other cast members include Eadie Scott, Allison Linker, Michael David Brown, Alison Hyder, Cynthia Harrington, and Sarah MacDonnell.

The Provincetown Theatre is located at 238 Bradford Street, Provincetown MA. For reservations for this free event please call (508) 487-7487 or log onto Provincetowntheatre.org
