THE BOOK OF MORMON has been described by its creators, SOUTH PARK juggernauts Trey Parker and Matt Stone, as "making fun of and celebrating things at the same time," so it might not come as a surprise to them that seeing the satirical smash hit led student Liza Morong, 21, to pick up a real copy of The Book of Mormon.

According the Huffington Post, Morong attended The Book of Mormon in 2011 and was baptized into the Mormon Church the same year.

"After seeing the musical, I was convinced that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (also known as the Mormon Church) was filled with psychotic people who knew nothing of what real life is," she writes on her blog. "I decided in my sassy and entitled mood, that I would go onto Mormon.org and see just how insane they were...I thought, this was my perfect time to destroy everything those missionaries were 'told' to believe."

"Upon signing on to the chat, I met a young man who went by the name of Elder Trevor Boardman," Morong continues. "Although I originally wanted to make fun of him, we started to chat and this young man was so informative and polite. When we went to wrap up the chat, he asked me if I wanted to learn more...Elder Boardman even sent me a personal copy of The Book of Mormon. He wrote a promise in the back of the book, telling me that if I were to read, pray and ponder in my heart to know if The Book of Mormon was true, that I would receive an answer."

Morong, who was attended Suffolk University in Boston, plans to transfer to the University of Utah.

THE BOOK OF MORMON features book, music and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez and Matt Stone. Parker and Stone are the four-time Emmy Award-winning creators of the landmark animated series, "South Park." Tony Award-winner Lopez is co-creator of the long-running hit musical comedy, Avenue Q. The musical is choreographed by Tony Award-winner Casey Nicholaw (Monty Python's Spamalot, The Drowsy Chaperone) and is directed by Nicholaw and Parker.

THE BOOK OF MORMON is the winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score (Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, Matt Stone), Best Book (Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, Matt Stone), Best Direction (Casey Nicholaw, Trey Parker), Best Featured Actress (Nikki M. James), Best Scenic Design (Scott Pask), Best Lighting Design (Brian MacDevitt), Best Sound Design (Brian Ronan) and Best Orchestrations (Larry Hochman, Stephen Oremus); the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical; five Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album; four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Musical, and the Drama League Award for Best Musical.
