Wichita Community Theatre will present ANGEL STREET (also known by GASLIGHT) by Patrick Hamilton from June 4-22, 2014.

This is the Audience Choice play for Wichita Community Theatre. During the last season WCT's audiences chose among three plays they would like WCT to produce. ANGEL STREET won by a wide margin.

This Broadway hit was first produced in London under the title GASLIGHT and filmed twice with that title. ANGEL STREET tells the story of the Manninghams who live on Angel Street in 19th Century London. As the curtain rises on this mystery, all appears the essence of Victorian tranquility...but all is not what it appears.

It is soon apparent that Mr. Manningham is slowly driving his gentle, devoted wife Bella, to the brink of insanity. Patrick Hamilton, the author, has built and sustained some of the most brilliant, suspenseful sequences in modern theatre.

ANGEL STREET is directed by Dana Womack. The cast includes: Lewis D. Mize, Michelle Janssens, Kevin Sowers, Deb Goin and Andi Weaver.

Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $14 or $12 for military/senior/students. There is a special opening night ticket price of $10 for all on June 4th only. Call for reservations 686-1282. Wichita Community Theatre is located at 258 N. Fountain.
