Alan Cumming is back on the Broadway stage this year, returning to the Kit Kat Klub as the androgynous Master of Ceremonies in Cabaret. Just yesterday, the star was honored with his very on caricature, which is now on hanging on the fabled walls of Sardi's, and that got us thinking about why he so deserves it...

Just in case you're in need of some more reasons to love Broadway's favorite Emcee, BroadwayWorld brings you ten below!

1. He's an Emcee for the ages.

Over the years, Alan has become the face of Cabaret, having starred in both the 1998 and 2014 revivals - not to mention that he won every theatre award imaginable for his stunning performance.

2. He marches to the beat of his own drum.

Whether it be his crazy (but fabulous) looks on the red carpet looks or out on the town, Alan has always been one to stand out- and we love him for it!

3. His accent is AMAZING.

When it comes to accents, everyone knows that Scottish is where it's at. Alan has a thick brouge, having been brought up in Angus Scotland, though some fans of his stage and screen work wouldn't have a clue!

4. He is a true artist.

Not only is Alan a performance artist. He's also an accomplished photographer, fragrance creator, and published author of Tommy's Tale (2002) and Not My Father's Son (coming in October).

5. He keeps his fans in the loop.

Alan is a social media rockstar, being very active on Twitter and Instagram. Recent Tweet: This could be it, people!

6. He is an amimal lover!

Alan is a loving dad to his two pups- Honey and Leon, both of which are the stars of many of his social media posts.

7. He's a champion for causes.

Among the many charities to which Alan has leant his name include: GLAAD, the Human Rights Campaign, the American Foundation for AIDS Research and of course, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He is also a supporter and activist for the Scottish 'YES' campaign in the run-up to Scotland's referendum on independence in September 2014.

8. He's the life of the party.

Believe it or not, Alan's has the distinct honor of being sponspred by a liquor company- or at least his dressing room does. He is known to have a variety of post-show celebrations from the top floor of Studio 54!

9. He's a man of all mediums.

Alan is a recognized face even outside of the theatre community, well-known for his Emmy-nominated portrayal of 'Eli Gold' on CBS' The Good Wife, as well as such films as X-Men 2, Spy Kids, Eyes Wide Shut, Burlesque, and many more!

10. But he always stays true to his theatre roots.

Despite his success off stage, Alan always comes back to his home on stage (and Broadway is happy to have him back)!
