Wayside Theatre's The Gin Game Opens 7/18, Runs Through 8/15

Wayside Theatre Artistic Director Warner Crocker announced the second play of the season and performance schedule, The Gin Game. The Gin Game runs through August 15th. The play is a Pulitzer Prize winner for Drama by D. L. Colburn.

The Gin Game is a tale of old age and friendship, two kindred spirits play out their contentious relationship over a game of gin rummy in this touching and hilarious Pulitzer Prize winning drama. In their twilight years in a dilapidated retirement home, the pair befriends each other and over a game of cards reveals the intimate details of their lives, running the gamut from comic encounter to a poignant endgame of loneliness and frustration.

Crocker announces the cast, James Laster (The Mousetrap. A Christmas Carol, Unnecessary Farce, Tuesday with Morrie, Black Coffee) and Faith Potts (Driving Miss Daisy, Lying in State, and Hank Williams: Lost Highway). The production is directed by Warner Crocker. The set designed by Til Turner, costume design by Catherine Lovejoy, sound design by Steve Przybylski and lighting design by Paul Callahan..

The Gin Game will begin performances on Saturday, July 18th and. Opening Night is Sunday, July 19th at 6:30pm. The remaining performance schedule lists performances on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday's at 2:30pm. Ticket prices are $25 and $30 dollars with tickets for children 17 and younger set at $10.00.
