WICKED Treats Fans to 'Ultimate Encore' Performance in Honor of Halloween, 10/30

In honor of its 8th Anniversary on Broadway, the blockbuster musical Wicked will treat its fans to a special "Ultimate Encore" performance on Sunday, October 30th. Over 10,000 Wicked fans have cast their votes online for their favorite song from the musical to be performed by the current Broadway cast for this one-time-only performance following this Sunday's matinee. The "Ultimate Encore" performance will be broadcast worldwide over Facebook that evening at 9pm for Wicked fans across the globe.

In addition to viewing the "Ultimate Encore," fans can watch Wicked TV on Facebook starting at 9am for an all day Wicked experience. The special broadcast will allow fans around the globe to view behind-the-scene videos with the cast and creative team of the blockbuster phenomenon. Winner of 35 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, Wicked is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. Wicked tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Declared "A Cultural Phenomenon" by Variety and "The Best Musical of the Decade" by Entertainment Weekly, Wicked currently has 7 productions worldwide: New York; London; Japan; Germany/Holland; Australian/Asian Tour; and two concurrent North American National Tours. Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked has music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a book by Winnie Holzman. The production is directed by Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento. Wicked is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Pictures, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt and David Stone.
