WFUV, New York (90.7 FM/wfuv.org), has a full lineup of special programs to usher out 2014 and ring in 2015. On Friday, December 19, starting at 12 noon, the station will unveil the results of its annual Listener Poll with a countdown of the Top 90 Songs of 2014. The countdown will highlight the second day of a special two-day membership drive. (In addition to supporting the public radio station, WFUV's community-minded listeners are encouraged to make a $5 donation which will be passed along to the Food Bank for New York City.) On Monday, December 22 at 12 noon WFUV will air a broadcast of this year's Holiday Cheer for FUV benefit concert, starring Conor Oberst & Friends, at the Beacon Theatre on Monday, December 8. The sold-out concert, which featured breathtaking performances by The Lone Bellow, Laura Marling, The Felice Brothers, Suzanne Vega, Jonathan Wilson, and, of course Conor himself, concluded with all hands on deck singing John Fogerty's "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" There will also be a reboadcast on Christmas night at 6 p.m. Some of WFUV's specialty shows, including Sunday Breakfast, Ceol na nGael, and Woody's Children, will program songs of the season on Sunday, December 21. Christmas Eve will feature The Whole Wide World Christmas Special at 6 p.m., The Alternate Side Christmas Special at 8 p.m., Fordham University's Festival of Lessons and Carols at 10:30 p.m. and Midnight Mass at Christmas Day will offer wall-to-wall holiday music until 6 p.m., when the Holiday Cheer concert will be rebroadcast. Finally, WFUV has the soundtrack for New Year's Eve with non-stop party music from 7 p.m. until 1 a.m. New Year's morning.
