Good morning, BroadwayWorld! Because we know all our readers eat, sleep and breathe Broadway, what could be better than waking up to it? For your most important theatre meal of the day, we've rounded up the big news you missed yesterday, what's on the agenda today, and a few extras to start your day off right.

The Bacon: See what's on the griddle today...

Cup of Joe: Perk up and revisit yesterday's big stories...

Broadway Weather Forecast: Partly cloudy in the morning with rain later in the day. Maybe some thunder. High of 65 degrees.

Quote of the Day: What theatre tells us about the world we envision...

"Great theatre is about challenging how we think and encouraging us to fantasize about a world we aspire to."
-- Willem Dafoe (via BrainyQuote)

Video of the Day: In honor of HEDWIG's opening on Broadway tonight, watch a clip from the 2001 movie version starring John Cameron Mitchell!

And finally, a Happy Birthday shout-out to John Waters, who turns 67 today!

Waters is a director, screenwriter, actor, comedian, journalist, visual artist and more. He is known for his series of cult films in the '70s featuring a troupe of actors nicknamed "the Dreamlanders", and later on, his work on 1988's Hairspray, which was adapted into 2002's Broadway musical sensation, followed by the popular 2007 film. Waters also consulted on 2008's Broadway adaptation of his film Cry-Baby.
