FORT MYERS, Fla.

Within the autobiographical memoir "First Love: Just Once in a Lifetime: A Memoir" (published by iUniverse) by author Violeta Barrett, a story of enduring love, obligations and conflicting emotions unfolds for readers. As well as renewing its marketing plan for 2015, Barrett's book is soon to be converted into audio-book format.

"First Love" is Barrett's nostalgic, emotional memoir of her journey where morality, love and obligations collide, forcing unexpected decisions.

Barrett's true love story starts in 1956, soon after she had completed her decade-long stint with a Wall Street investment firm. A failed marriage and stressful work environment prompted her to seek a temporary escape, so she booked a vacation to Mexico.

During her trip, she met a stranger named Jorge. He would become her tour guide during the trip. As the two spent time together, Violeta and Jorge fell in love, beginning a four-year romance that would endure the obstacles of distance and time.

"The story is universal," Barrett says. "Many people, I've learned, have had that first love that has changed their lives in some way. This is a story that has occurred since ancient times and will continue as long as there is love."
