The Van Wezel Foundation is grateful to receive a $25,000 grant from the Harry Sudakoff Foundation to help fund the purchase and installation of a new orchestra shell for the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. The new shell will allow the Hall to better serve the community in a number of ways. The shell will aid in providing exceptionally high quality acoustics, allowing patrons to fully enjoy and experience the on stage performance.

The acoustical, spatial and technical improvements will also allow the Hall to continue its ongoing collaborations with other local arts organizations such as the Sarasota Orchestra, the Sarasota Concert Association, the Sarasota Ballet, the Sarasota Film Festival opening and the Ringling College Town Hall Series. The design of the new shell will accommodate more efficient load-ins and better use of the stage.

The project is slated to start in July 2015 and will be ready for use during the Van Wezel's 2015/2016 season.
