Former Arizona congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords couldn't help but see beauty as she took to the skies to mark the third anniversary of the mass shooting that left a bullet in her head and six people dead. The jump aired exclusively on NBC's TODAY, this morning Thursday, January 9.

TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, also a Tucson native, was in the plane with Giffords as she made her courageous leap, and the two later sat down for an exclusive interview. Giffords discussed her remarkable road to recovery and the importance of the three-year milestone.
