Urban Tales Productions announces the Los Angeles Premiere of 9 FULL MOONS a quintessential Los Angeles love story and an edgy, dark romance that will headline the New Filmmakers Los Angeles program on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 9:00 PM (PT). Click below to watch the trailer for the film!

Starring Amy Seimetz and Bret Roberts and co-starring Donal Logue, Dale Dickey, and Harry Dean Stanton, the brooding ode to love and Los Angeles will screen at the AT&T Center, 1139 South Hill Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015. There will be a red carpet, preshow mixer and a Q&A with post-show mixer following the premiere with cast and crew.

9 FULL MOONS dives into the sun-baked landscape of Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Hollywood, East Los Angeles and Echo Park; into the country-tinged singer-songwriter music scene of East Los Angeles; as well as into the seemingly implausible relationship between Frankie (Seimetz) and Lev (Roberts), two radically different people who seem to be meant for each other. As the young couple struggle with their personal demons, they try to hold on to one another against insurmountable odds.

A near-miss moment of intimacy at an after-hours LA nightclub leads Frankie and Lev to embark on a frenzied and handicapped affair, but their free-spiritedness and non-conformist attitude toward social norms send them on a rollercoaster ride. Frankie is a wild and enigmatic train wreck with a candid outlook on life. Lev is a solitary, stoic young man with profound aspirations to become one of the legendary musical vagabonds he earnestly admires. In order to escape the downward spiral of their lives, and take a serious stab at having a future together, Frankie and Lev must force themselves to examine and come face-to-face with their painful histories, and to make peace.

"9 FULL MOONS is a personal love letter to my partner and to the city of angels we both love and hate," said director Tomer Almagor. "The main characters are always on the move, constantly changing and progressing. Their narrative is a compelling chronicle of the extreme highs and lows of their relationship, but at the heart of it, 9 FULL MOONS is a hopeful love story."

Like life itself, 9 FULL MOONS is filled with contradictions; through Frankie and Lev's moments of anguish and glimpses of happiness, the film juxtaposes genuinely fresh and oddly romantic moments with scenes of bleak, raw, painful emotions and utter despair. It's a compelling modern love story that ushers in the dawn of the 21st century.

"9 FULL MOONS is unique in that it's a commercially viable film and a film that remains true to its artistic integrity via the Universal themes and story lines of life, love, and loss," said producer Gabrielle Almagor. "A lot of people struggle with drugs and alcohol as well as forcing themselves to grow up before they figure out who they really are. All of us can relate to the harshness of life and the struggle of love in one way or another."

"About a minute into my initial conversation with Tomer Almagor I knew I wanted to be a part of the cast of 9 FULL MOONS," said Donal Logue, who plays the role of the flawed, stubborn, and reluctantly sympathetic country star Charlie King Nash, whose music Lev hopes to revitalize while at the same time making a name for himself. "Working on 9 FULL MOONS reminded me why I got in this profession in the first place."

9 FULL MOONS made its world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival to outstanding reactions and packed houses. It resonates with anyone who has ever been in love, worked hard to make their dreams come true, or simply tries their best to get through the everyday struggles of being alive on this planet.

9 FULL MOONS made its market premiere at Cannes earlier this year, its international festival premiere at the 2013 Seattle International Film Festival in June and has been nominated for a FIPRESCI for best new film.
