On November 27, 1940, the acclaimed martial arts expert and actor Bruce Lee was born in San Francisco, California. Since his death in 1973, Lee has posthumously become one of the most prominent stars in the action film industry in America, and remains a cultural icon to this day. Check out a commemorative video put together by Lee's official web site below.

As a child, Lee and his parents moved to Hong Kong, where he appeared in numerous Chinese films. He returned to America in 1959 and was later cast in THE GREEN HORNET as the sidekick, Kato. During this time, Lee furthered his martial arts, entering tournaments and teaching the practice to various clients.

Lee also appeared in THE BIG BOSS (1971), wrote, directed, and starred in THE WAY OF THE DRAGON (1972), and ENTER THE DRAGON (1973). He died on July 20, 1973 in Hong Kong prior to ENTER THE DRAGON'S opening.
