SNL's Jan. 26 episode was hosted by Maroon 5 frontman and VOICE judge, Adam Levine.

After a 2011 concert with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Game, the trio dubbed Kendrick Lamar "The New King of the West Coast." His official debut album on Dre's Aftermath label, Good Kid M.A.A.d. City, opened at No. 2 on the Billboard charts in 2012 and sold over 200,000 copies in its first week. The album has eclipsed 600,000 copies in the United States and has been certified Gold. Kendrick's 2013 world tour includes 30 shows in 29 cities and 14 countries.
