The cast of IF/THEN recently sat down to talk with the Denver Center for the Performing Arts about everything from their experiences in the show, to their Broadway careers. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you several interviews with Idina Menzel, James Snyder, Anthony Rapp, LaChanze, and IF/THEN songwriters Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey!

RENT alumni Rapp and Menzel shared what the rock musical meant to them and how it has impacted not only their lives, but the theatre community as a whole. "When you are part of something that Jonathan Larson created that spoke to people's souls and continues to do so - that was was an incredible gift that he gave," said Rapp, "and he absolutely, directly impacted Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey's lives. He inspired them to create theatre that would do that. So it is a reunion, but it also feels like a way to continue to legacy."

"We always have this anchor of Jonathan and what he said in that musical and what we experienced together," Menzel adds. "And I think that we have tried to carry that with us throughout our lives."

The National Tour of IF/THEN, starring Tony Award-winner and Broadway superstar Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent, Frozen, Glee), Tony Award-winner LaChanze (The Color Purple, Once on This Island), Anthony Rapp (Rent, Six Degrees of Separation, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) and James Snyder (Cry-Baby, Rock of Ages), launched just last week at the Buell Theatre at Denver Center for the Performing Arts. It plays in Denver through Oct. 25. Interview by John Moore and David Lenk for the DCPA NewsCenter.

IF/THEN is a contemporary new musical that follows two distinct storylines in the life of Elizabeth, a city planner who moves back to New York to restart her life in this city of infinite possibilities. When her carefully designed plans collide with the whims of fate, Elizabeth's life splits into two parallel paths. IF/THEN follows both stories simultaneously as this modern woman faces the intersection of choice and chance.
