As reported by BroadwayWorld, Hofesh Shechter, who has been picked by director Bartlett Sher to choreograph the new Broadway revival of the classic, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, is an the Israeli-born star of the U.K.'s contemporary dance scene with no background in musical theatre.

Sher describes his work as coming from the world of "pure dance." This is, with a focus on the music or a conceptual idea as opposed to narrative.

In this sneak peek of Shechter working with the company, the chorographer offers his thoughts on the grittiness he tries to convey in the piece and how he tries not to think of how it has been done in the past.

The upcoming Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof will begin performances on Friday, November 20, 2015, with an official opening night on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at The Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway).
